Early Saturday afternoon (3/15) Murray Fire units had just extinguished a field fire on 12th Street (caused by a spark from a burn barrel) when they were dispatched to the small field fire that was moving toward a house in the 1900 block of Young Road. (pic above) Minutes mattered as the accidental fire (started by a spark from a torch) was moving steadily with a southeast wind taking it directly toward the residence. The fire was less than 100 yards from the house when Murray firemen stopped its progress.
